RowRouter for Smartsheet.
Row-scoped edit links for Smartsheet — what Update Requests should have shipped: field-level access, an audit log, and a review queue.
Why this exists for Smartsheet
The Smartsheet-specific case.
Smartsheet has Update Requests built in, and for the simplest one-off case they work. Where they fall short: no field-level access (the recipient sees every editable column), no consolidated audit log (cell-history exists but isn't queryable as a timeline), no review-before-publish, and a generic recipient form with no real row context.
For external editors at scale — field teams updating dozens of rows a week, contractors managing project status across multiple sheets, clients confirming items in a long list — those gaps become operational debt. Auditors ask questions you can't answer cleanly. Reconciliation eats hours.
RowRouter generates row-scoped links with per-column read/edit/hide, a structured audit log of every open / submit / retry, an optional review queue for approval gates, and a recipient experience that opens directly on the row — no learning the form. The writeback goes through the official Smartsheet API.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Smartsheet.
Does RowRouter replace Smartsheet Update Requests entirely?
For the cases that need field-level access, an audit log, a review queue, or bulk per-row link generation: yes. For the simplest one-off case: Update Requests still work and cost nothing extra. Most teams keep both.
Do I still need a Smartsheet license?
Yes — one operator license. RowRouter connects through your token. Recipients never need a Smartsheet license, regardless of how many rows they edit.
Which Smartsheet column types work?
Text, numbers, dates, single/multi-select (including dropdowns), checkboxes, contact lists, symbols (read-only), formulas (read-only). Attachments are read-only in v1.
Does the audit log replace cell-history?
Cell-history still lives in Smartsheet for any cells edited through the API. RowRouter's audit log adds the recipient-side events Smartsheet doesn't capture — open timestamp, IP, submit / retry sequence, upstream API response.
What about Smartsheet Dynamic View and WorkApps?
Those are paid add-on products for the case where the external user has a recurring relationship with the data. RowRouter is for one-shot single-row edits where the add-on cost doesn't pencil out.
Connect Smartsheet and send your first row link.
Free during the founding beta. No card. No recipient seats ever. Smartsheet OAuth and Personal Access Token both supported.
