The Shopify-specific case.
Shopify staff seats are expensive, scoped wide, and audit-heavy. Adding a dropshipper, a 3PL, or a supplier as a staff member to update one tracking number per order is operationally the wrong shape — it's an account-level access grant for an order-level interaction.
The alternatives are worse. CSV exports get out of sync; partner portals require partner-side onboarding; email-and-Notion workflows lose tracking numbers to copy-paste. Meanwhile, the customer is asking where their package is.
RowRouter generates a single-order edit link for the partner. They open it, type the carrier and tracking number, hit submit, and Shopify creates the fulfillment on the right line items — no staff seat, no portal handoff, no CSV. The order's status updates on your dashboard immediately.

Does this give the partner access to my whole Shopify store?
No. The link is scoped to the specific order (and the specific line items) you choose. The partner sees only what you allowed; they have no access to other orders, customers, products, or store settings.
Can RowRouter create proper Shopify fulfillments, not just notes?
Yes. When the recipient submits carrier + tracking, RowRouter creates a Shopify fulfillment on the order's correct line items via the official API. The order status updates accordingly.
What if the partner needs to mark only some line items as shipped?
RowRouter supports partial fulfillment — the form can be configured to let the recipient pick which line items they're shipping in this submission.
What about returns or refunds?
Read-only in v1. The recipient can see return / refund context but can't initiate one. That stays on the operator side intentionally.
Does this work for multi-location inventory?
Yes. RowRouter respects Shopify's location model when creating fulfillments — the operator picks which location the fulfillment is being marked from at form-build time.
